Stall holders will have a range of food and goods on offer, and there will be activities for children. It is a day for all the family to enjoy!

The Garden is usually a dog-friendly environment, however Sakura Matsuri is our busiest day of the year and we are expecting considerable levels of noise and people of all ages. So for the safety of all visitors they will NOT ALLOW DOGS into the Garden during this event.

Learn about the history of the Garden which traces back to the tragic and significant Cowra POW Breakout in 1944. An Edo-period cottage, open air tea house and Bonsai collection are available for your perusal. Visitors can marvel at the many valuable Japanese items in the Cultural Centre.  Rare porcelain, paintings and a doll collection are part of a stunning display.

Sakura Matsuri is celebrated annually in September when the cherry blossoms are at their peak. The blossoms are usually in flower from late mid September until mid October, depending on weather each year. The Garden also includes apricot, apple and plum blossoms along with magnolia. Whatever time you visit, there is always beauty on show.
