WYANGALA DAM…

The village of Wyangala is an absolute adventure playground. For starters, it’s the hub of Reflections Holiday Wyangala Waters. There’s also a nine-hole golf course and tennis court available for visitors. After a day of fishing and water sports, you can relax with a meal and a drink at the Wyangala Country Club. Or pack a picnic and head to Dissipator Park, which is located right at the base of the dam wall. It’s a spectacular backdrop for any occasion.

Wyangala is located a short drive from Cowra at the junction of the Lachlan and Abercrombie Rivers. The lake is a clean, clear vast expanse of water. The surrounding area offers excellent accommodation and camping facilities. There are bungalows, cottages, cabins and even a couple of houseboats. There are plenty of powered and unpowered grassy campsites and caravan sites and even a backwater camping area for the more adventurous.

For those of you looking for activities, there are many to choose from at this picturesque park. There is a children’s playground, volleyball court and many walking trails through the bush to suit all levels of fitness. There are plenty of mountain bike trails to explore with varied terrain and spectacular scenery. A paddle around the foreshores any time of year is a wonderful and relaxing way to enjoy a day. 

The dam is well regarded by anglers for fishing; silver and golden perch, catfish and Murray cod are plentiful.

The onsite general store offers a delicious selection of takeaway food, fuel and general supplies.

Dogs are welcome in the dog-friendly areas of the park and on campsites. Dogs must be on a leash and attended at all times.
